Sonnet on Temptation (The Devil XV)

Don't tell me that you're tempted by their cheese?
They're proffering a poisoned pleasure cup,
Chock full of venom, vitriol and sleaze,
And toxic mould designed to fuck you up.
You really think they want what's best for you?
They bargain on your weaknesses, is all. 
Self-sabotage will colour all you do;
They trip you up and hope to make you fall. 

Your anger, hatred, jealousy and spite
Are currency by which they keep you bound;
And camels through the needle's eye just might
Proceed, but then their humps bring woes profound.
Still tempted? Think these people seem so nice?
You won't think that when head-locked in their vice.
