Sonnet on Passion (Strength XI)

If passion be for words or tunes or paint
Then turn it loose and see what you can make;
You're free to let it flow without restraint, 
Express desire in easy form to take.
But if your passion's blocked in this regard
You'll find that it's subverted into pain;
You'll see your dick's gone soft, the blockage hard,
It's time to rein it in and strength regain. 

And if your passion's locked on someone dear
First ascertain that they too feel the same,
'Cause otherwise all you'll evoke is fear, 
Mistrust, disgust and overwhelming blame. 
You'll wish you misdirection never tried;
You're poleaxed, by your passion crucified.

In Christianity the Passion of Jesus (from Latin patior, “to suffer, bear, endure”) refers to the suffering and death of Jesus on the cross, to the accounts of this in the Gospels of the New Testament, and to choral works based on these accounts.
