Sonnet on Brilliance (The Sun XIX)
The bushel that you use to hide behind,
Will pillow make as well, push comes to shove;
A peck of prancing pipers once opined,
Since Lucy left, that all you need is love.
I beg to differ; talent is the thing,
And inspiration also is the key,
The motive and the confidence to sing
A better song, that matters most to me.
Instead of looking high up in the sky,
The treasure that you seek is in the earth;
Dig deep, for underground a lullaby
Enchants the sundry sleepers' messy mirth.
While they sleep on expose it to the light,
But shield your eyes, it's supernova bright.

“Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue about that; I’m right and I’ll be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now; I don’t know which will go first, rock ‘n’ roll or Christianity. Jesus was alright but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It’s them twisting it that ruins it for me.” — John Lennon 1966.
